Elec-Trak
It was love at first sight when I first discovered these fully electric tractors made by G.E. in the 1970s in nearby Schenectady, NY. The Elec-Trak has 12 horsepower, tons of possible attachments, and as electric vehicles they were truly ahead of their time. I now own seven, and consider myself as their steward until their time to shine arrives.
Hydro-Electric
Flowing water has power, falling water…has even more power. On my homestead there is a small seasonal stream, with a 500 foot elevation drop from summit to base, even just a few gallons falling this distance can generate meaningful power. Enough power to run a house, albeit, an energy efficient one, like my off-grid homestead.
